Crisis Intervention Support Provision
Our Provision and Services
Our activity-based service delivers emergency, activity-based provision for Local Authorities facing accommodation challenges with vulnerable young people aged 8-16. This time-limited service provides essential respite placements, offering space to breathe and reset during emergency situations or while longer-term arrangements are being considered. Whether supporting a temporary break from current provision or providing emergency crisis intervention, we are here to help when you need us most.
Cumbrian Outbound offers up to 28-day outdoor activity-based placements across rural locations (away from public network links and shops) in Cumbria and Lancashire. We are committed to delivering excellent bespoke, individualised and creative, child-centred care packages that recognise every young person’s right to the highest quality support. Each placement provides a safe, nurturing environment where young people can experience challenges that promote personal growth, responsibility and increased self-esteem achieving positive outcomes.
Bespoke Packages tailored to each child
Every young person receives a completely bespoke and individualised care package designed around their specific needs. Our qualified and experienced staff team provides 2:1 support as a minimum, with 24-hour care available throughout the placement. We are equipped to accommodate young people with complex and challenging needs, facilitating all necessary meetings and maintaining regular contact with all professionals involved in their care.
Our service creates valuable time and space for reflection on presenting behaviours while supporting effective transitions to longer-term placements. We provide comprehensive transition support both at the beginning and end of each placement, ensuring continuity of care throughout the process. Our experienced Referral Team is available around the clock to provide almost immediate placement decisions when urgent accommodation is needed.
Placements typically last up to 28 days, during which we work closely with Local Authorities and other professionals to ensure the smoothest possible transition at the end of each placement. This collaborative approach helps create stability and positive outcomes for some of our most vulnerable young people during their most challenging times.
Cumbrian Outbound Team
Our team is lead by Director Alexandra Davies and Service Manager Julie Naden, both dedicated and committed professionals with extensive knowledge and experience of Looked After Children, Young People with moderate learning difficulties ASD and EBD. Under their leadership staff take a holistic approach and identify all the issues and barriers for individuals in their care, including health, education, employment and housing. Our objectives are to understand, learn and create change in the interests of all the people we care for.
We have developed an objective, focused model for risk assessment, risk management and outcome setting. The process keeps the people we care for at the heart of the process, but ensures that they are supported to make genuine progress during their time with us.
