Rural Settings in Cumbria and Lancashire

Our placements are based in handpicked rural locations (away from public network links and shopping centres) across Cumbria and Lancashire – areas known for their natural beauty, tranquillity, and space to breathe. Nestled between quiet woodlands, rolling hills, and peaceful lakeside settings, each placement offers young people space to breathe and reset – a chance to step away from high-pressure environments and reconnect with themselves in calm, grounding surroundings.
These carefully chosen spots aren’t just scenic – they’re therapeutic. With limited distractions and a strong connection to nature, our locations help create the right conditions for stability, emotional reset, and meaningful progress during each activity-based placement.
Comfort, Safety, and Stability
Our high-quality lodges provide a safe and welcoming home-from-home environment for vulnerable young people in crisis. Thoughtfully located in peaceful rural settings across Cumbria and Lancashire, each lodge sleeps two experienced staff members and one child, offering dedicated 2:1 support, 24-hours a day. These fully equipped, modern spaces give young people a calm and secure base for reflection, recovery, and growth – providing the opportunity to make positive change.

Cumbrian Outbound Team
Our team is lead by Director Alexandra Ainsworth and Manager Julie Naden, both dedicated and committed professionals with extensive knowledge and experience of Looked After Children, Young People with moderate learning difficulties ASD and EBD. Under their leadership staff take a holistic approach and identify all the issues and barriers for individuals in their care, including health, education, employment and housing. Our objectives are to understand, learn and create change in the interests of all the people we care for.
We have developed an objective, focused model for risk assessment, risk management and outcome setting. The process keeps the people we care for at the heart of the process, but ensures that they are supported to make genuine progress during their time with us.
